Description

Crispy onion rings coated in a savory crust of Parmesan and breadcrumbs for the ultimate crunchy snack or side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 large onions, cut into thick rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Separate the onion slices into individual rings.
  2. Set up a dredging station: one bowl with flour seasoned with salt and pepper, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mix of Parmesan, panko, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Coat each onion ring in flour, dip into egg, then press into the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry onion rings in small batches until golden and crisp, about 2–3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Make sure to press the coating onto the onion rings for maximum crust. These are best served fresh and hot.
